A Night at the Oscar's

After all the months of thinking about themes, looking for entertainment, coming up with ideas and of course sorting out the decorations, the opening season party arrived and it definately arrived with a bang (well that's if a bang constitutes lots of singing, dancing and happy people)

As I arrived in the clubhouse armed with a box of decorations I was greeted by a clubhouse full of people watching the football. Yes I had forgotten there was a match on and I surveyed the room with dismay as I wondered to myself how on earth we was going to make the room suitable for an Oscar's themed event with so many people in it. Luckily the room did clear quickly after the football finished and the customers all went back to their caravans to get their glad rags on ready for the evening. This gave Diane (the barmaid on duty) and myself time to start hanging the decorations. Then all the helpers started to arrive and the room came together and the casino and entertainment arrived just in time as the first Oscar Nominees started to arrive.

With everyone seated and raring to go the entertainment started. Janette Munro the singer was fantastic and surpassed all our expectations with her stunning voice and the fun had definately started.

The Oscar Nominees for Best Dressed Male and Female were, well everybody in there! and the winner of Best Dressed Male was Tony Plant and the Oscar for Best Dressed Female was won by two women, Katie and Sophie who looked fabulous in their red carpet dresses.

I think everybody can agree that it was a fantastic night and we would like to thank Peter Brand for helping us so much by being our compere on the night and of course all of our customers for making such an effort to dress up and make the night something special to remember. Take a look at our facebook page for even more pictures! Don't forget to tag yourselves and your friends.

Spring has Sprung! Or so it seems.

My drive to work is always a pleasant drive through the beautiful Welsh countryside but this morning it was an especially pleasant drive. The sun was shining, everywhere I looked there were daffodils in flower and hedgerows were looking decidedly green. It's enough to make you feel positive that the long winter is finally over!

As always there is so much to look forward to this season at ParcFarm Caravan Park. On Saturday it is our Opening Season Party where we all come together to celebrate the start of a brand new season. We always have a theme and this years is 'A Night at the Oscar's' and as always when we have an event like this my desk is a sea of bits of cut out paper and ribbon as we prepare for a good night in the clubhouse. Pictures and information will be posted next week!
