Charity Days and Gardening Days..Busy times at ParcFarm

It's been a while since any of us wrote an update. But, to be fair to us all it has been really busy here at ParcFarm.

Our annual charity fun day was a big success and enjoyed by all. it has become a day which everyone looks forward to. Hard work but well worth it. Luckily the weather was sunny for us and the weeks we spent checking weather forecasts and trying to beg and borrow as many gazebos as possible were not entirely necessary, but one thing that it is impossible to do is predict the Great British Weather. So we prepared for the worst and had a nice surprise when it was sunny and warm for most of the day.

As well as the usual mix of games, raffles, competitions and stalls we had some fantastic entertainment. The axe men were fantastic to watch and the audience were suitably stunned as the wood cutters climbed, chopped, sawed and raced with chainsaws and axes.
The falconry display from Pen-y-Bryn Falconry is always a favourite among both adults and children. This year the display was fantastic and everyone got a chance to hold the birds or take part in the display itself.

August is always a busy month for us and only a few days after the fun day we had our gardening competition presentation. It is always amazing to see how much effort our customers put into the gardens around their caravans. we have beautiful floral displays, water features and even vegetable plots. The judge this year was Ruth Davies from the National Garden Scheme and she was stunned and commented on how unexpected ir was to find such well established and well maintained gardens around caravans.

As the children go back to school we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief, not that we don't enjoy having the children here, but with the park so busy other areas of work tend to fall behind a little. But now we can catch up and start to look forward to our new ParcFarm projects.

Ribbon, cellophane, paper, scissors, toys and sweets

No it isn't Blue Peter, just a day in the ParcFarm Office :-)

This week the office has been gradually filling up with games, prizes, posters, bunting and lots more for the charity fun day on Saturday 21st August.

This is always one of our biggest charity events of the year and there is a wnoderful community atmosphere with many of our customers mucking in and helping on the day.

We are all looking forward to this years fun day. Special appearances from the Axe men and displays by Pen-y-Bryn Falconry.

A sea of paper and envelopes

A sea of paperwork is exactly how the office looked all last week! When we first started to talk about and work on the new pitch licence agreements for our customers I'm not sure any of us quite realised just how much paper and work it would take. We started printing last Monday and over 9000 pieces of paper and a week later they are done and in envelopes ready to send out.
You can't help but feel a little guilty when you think of the impact on the environment and we did try our best to come up with ways to use less paper but couldn't. We did at least use recycled paper.

We can at least breathe a sigh of relief that it is now finished, only a small sigh is allowed though as nothing ever stays still at ParcFarm and our attention is now turned towards the charity fun day which is only two weeks away!

Luckily we all much prefer it when it's busy :-)

Paper, paper, paper

Buried under a mound of paper trying to sort out new licence agreements to send out to everyone. Please let it come to an end soon!

School holidays in full swing now plenty of children about riding bikes and making dens - lets just hope the weather improves not that is has stopped everyone enjoying themselves. Friday caused some excitment for everyone when a new caravan arrived and was sited. It kept everyone entertained for a couple of hours whilst the lorry unloaded it and Malcolm & Phill put it into position for siting ready for the excited new owners to move in.

The swimming pool is as popular as ever no problems this weekend thank goodness. Many of the customers went off site this weekend visiting the various events in the area but came back in time to enjoy the evening bingo and entertainment in the club.

Busy Times!

Last week was a busy week here at ParcFarm, July and August always are though. All the children are now on holiday and everyone was out enjoying the brief spells of sunshine.

We had the gardening competition judged so Geraint, myself and the judge spent Friday afternoon looking at all the gardens that were entered into the competition. It's amazing the effort people go and how creative people are with the space they have. Ruth, the judge was very impressed but of course her comments remain top secret for now ;) We will let everyone know when the prize presentation will be.

Bloggers of ParcFarm

So, it's happened. We are taking our first tentative steps into the world of blogging. The people at ParcFarm all have a lot to say so it may as well be said where people can read it!

There are so many interesting things at ParcFarm and the local area to talk about too that we just felt the need to share!

So wish us luck as we try to make sense of blogging :-)
